Join AMC Entertainment® and the Autism Society of America for Sensory Friendly Films
WHAT?

AMC Entertainment (AMC) and ASA have teamed up to bring families affected by autism and other developmental differences a special opportunity to enjoy their favorite films in a safe, accepting environment on a monthly basis. With sensory friendly films, the auditorium will have its lights brought up and the sound turned down. Additionally, audience members are welcome to bring in their own casien and gluten free snacks, get up and dance, walk, shout, or sing.  We'll see you at the show!

North County Family Fun Night
WHAT?

Join other families with autistic children at a Family Fun Gymnastic Night in north county. Our north county Camp I CAN partner, the Palomar Family YMCA, will provide the gymnasium equipment and bounce house, and together we will provide the fun! Bring the entire family for an enjoyable, relaxing night of family recreation. We will have food from El Pollo Loco and drinks, but feel free to bring an item to share potluck style. We will have GFCF options available.

Splash for Cash
WHAT?

A fun filled, swim-a-thon sponsored by the SDASA to raise funds and awareness for Pool PALS. This is a fundraiser that features teams and individuals raising money and swimming for autism. There is a pancake breakfast starting at 8 am, prepared and served by SD City Firefighters. Throughout the day there will be a resource fair, hourly prizes awarded for the "swimmers in the pool", a silent auction, a kids fun zone and a chili dog lunch. There are grand prizes awarded to the team and individual who raise the most money. All are welcome to attend, even if you are not swimming!

All Out for Autism 2010 Information
WHAT?

The Autism Society of San Diego is proud to announce that we are going “All Out for Autism! – Island Dreams” for our 10th Annual fundraiser benefiting Camp I CAN (Camp Including Children with Autism Now). This festive event will be held on April 24, 2010 at the Scripps Birch Aquarium. This  fabulous yearly event will feature a silent and live auction, gourmet, island-inspired cuisine, live music and entertainment, with all proceeds going to Camp I CAN, the only camp in the county specifically designed for autistic children and teens.

Teacher Appreciation Night
WHAT?

Come join us on this special night to recognize the talents of children with autism and the teachers, aides, and professionals who have made a difference in their lives. Coast Music Therapy students will bring music to our ears as they perform on piano, guitar, voice, or percussion. After the recital, awards will be given to dedicated educators who have shown excellence in all that they do for students on the spectrum.  A light dinner will be served.

Combined Health Agencies Volunteer of the Year Recognition
WHAT?

Combined Health Agencies is a federation of 25 chapters of local and national non-profit health agencies, including the San Diego county chapter of the Autism Society of America. This event gives each organization a chance to recognize a dedicated volunteer who's contribution has surpassed the agency's every expectation. This year we are honoring Shelly Hirshberg for her many years of dedicated service to the autism community.
